History

The Roma Export group was originally formed in Yogyakarta, 1999, as a manufacturer of Stone Mosaic wall and flooring solutions. With the product lines we had at the time we grew into one of Indonesia’s largest manufactures, mainly attributed to superior quality and product uniqueness. In the early stages of being a natural stone products manufacturer we also entered the Terrazzo Industry. Terrazzo, a composite material of cement, stone, glass and several other elements, was found suitable to produce statues, sinks, table tops and even bathtubs. Somewhere along the line we also entered the market in Buddha statues. Even though the market was already quite saturated, we still managed to get quite the foothold by making statues that are superior in authentic appearance and quality.

With the always changing market we saw an opportunity to turn factory and public waste in to what is now our successful product line of Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) under the Destination Green Brand. As the first company to use Teak as its wood element in WPC, we managed to create a product that appears more similar to wood, with the durability of plastic. Originally we used our WPC for decking material, one of WPC’s most common appliances. After our quality reaching the desired state we decided to also develop several other WPC based solutions. Products such as WPC interlocking garden tiles, or click tiles, were therefore an obvious step to make. Seeing the growth in the Indonesian market and the amount of property development resulted in the development of other WPC products, such as Door and Window Frames and Wall cladding. Finally we also decided to use our WPC material as Faux wood for Outdoor Table Tops, which gave life to the Destination Green outdoor galvanized series.

Company

Our base in Yogyakarta gives us access to a large amount of raw materials. Yogyakarta’s central positioning gives us access to stone products from everywhere in Java. On the other side Yogyakarta’s extensive teak furniture industry gives us the ability to source the teak dust, used in our WPC easily. Currently we hold three booming production facilities in Yogyakarta, our main office and stone production is located on the South Ringroad, thereby we have two more facilities in respectively the area of Tembi and Bantul.
